The Penny Project

Based on ‘Good Karma’. This project was about seeing how many peoples day I could improve on a budget of one pound. Relating superstitions karma and luck I devised an on-going cycle of goodwill, playing on the phrase ‘find a penny pick it up and all day you will have good luck’. Visiting London’s ten busiest railway stations during rush hour on a grey Monday morning, I dropped ten pennies throughout each, photographing them and then moving on.

If found please return

Each penny has a sticker with its own unique number and a link to the Twitter account. Finders are encouraged to tweet a photo, revealing its number and location, then continue the cycle, dropping it somewhere else on their own journey.

The first penny found was number 23, sent in by Radio One Dj Matt Edmondson.
